Dodge Challenger SRT Demon gets boosted to 1,400 hp

The tuner team over at SpeedKore might have just built the fastest-going Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in history. The car itself will be exhibited at the SEMA motor show in Las-Vegas, but in the meantime, let’s have a look at its characteristics.

The standard Demon comes equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged engine capable of 840 hp (626 kW) and 1,043 Nm (770 lbft) of torque. Even unmodded, it makes a quarter-mile in mere 9.65 seconds.

Someone in SpeedKore must have reasoned that the car can do more, though. The team began by stripping it of its supercharger and replacing it with two turbochargers. This and dozens of other modifications resulted in the performance skyrocketing to 1,400 hp (1,044 kW) when measured at the flywheel, or 1,203 hp (897 kW) at the rear wheels.

How fast do you think the upgraded Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is? Well, it finishes a quarter-mile distance in 8.77 seconds, accelerating to 260 km/h in the process. The engine isn’t solely responsible for this, however: SpeedKore replaced the entire body of the car with a better one made entirely out of carbon.
