Donald Glenn ‘Don’ Garlits, widely known as Big Daddy, U.S.-based champion of numerous racing events and test driver of some of the world’s fastest dragsters, has teamed up with Dream Giveaway Garage to produce this Dodge Challenger Hellcat Extreme Redeye.
The base car is a 2020 Challenger equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 rated at 797 hp (594 kW). Extensive modifications based around the Stage 4R Performance Kit by Forza Tuning bring its nominal output to 1,050 hp (783 kilowatts).
Further additions include a stock body kit made of carbon fiber, an Oracle front splitter, Hurst exhaust finishers, and a larger trunk lip. The white body comes adorned with custom graphics and red/black accents.
Don Garlits, who is now 88, has a true drag strip king here with his Extreme Redeye. That said, ‘King of Gas Station’ holds water, too, given that the car consumes north of 25 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers covered (<9.5 MPG in the United States). Given its 70-liter (18.5-gallon) tank, this guarantees daily visits to gas stations throughout the country for anyone who dares drive it on a day-to-day basis.
