Before Dodge can say goodbye to the current generation of the Challenger, it will be releasing as many as seven special editions of it. The first of them, shamelessly named the Challenger Shakedown, is already here and looking for your valuables.
The name actually references a concept the company built half a century ago (see video). You could see it at a SEMA show a few years ago. It comes adorned with black and red stripes running from the hood to the trunk. The radiator grille bears the name of the model and its specification, while the fenders flaunt the number ‘392’.
A peek behind the spokes of 20-inch wheels reveals Brembo heavy-duty calipers finished in red. The same color theme continues in the cabin, which has commemorative plaques and special edition captions to show for being exclusive.
Dodge says atotal of 1,000 Shakedown units will be produced and delivered starting next spring. All pricing remains to be announced.
The next special Challenger is set to debut next Wednesday, August 31.
