When it launched the new Challenger in 2008, Dodge never hid the fact that the car was inspired by its own automotive classics dating as far back as the 1960s. Recently, eXoMod Concepts took up one of those and cranked up its ‘retro’ factor some more.
The coupe comes finished in a mercury shade of grey and looks metallic at a glance, but in fact uses a host of carbon-fiber panels. Along with other modifications, they enable it to weight a whopping 180 kilos (400 pounds) less than stock. Design-wise, the car inclines towards the 1968 Dodge Charger aesthetics, but its widened body and modern 20-inch Forgeline rims dissipate the illusion.
The brakes and suspension have also been reworked, and the same appears true for the cabin. The engine bay has also been overhauled, but the engine itself – a supercharged V8 rated at 818 PS (807 hp / 602 kW) – stays stock.
The eXoMod Quicksilver is a one-off car right now, but the company plans to release up to 10 such vehicles priced starting from $345,000.
