Dodge will no longer take new orders for Hemi-engined Chargers and Challengers starting in late July, Carscoops reports quoting CEO Tim Kuniskis. Apparently, both muscle cars are already too far down the electrification road.
According to Kuniskis, dealerships were instructed to submit any unfinished orders to the factory before the end of the month. He called it ‘an end of an unforgettable era.’
Both cars are also available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine linked to an eight-speed A/T and producing 303 PS (300 hp / 224 kW). These entry-level trims start as low as $33,100 and may linger in production for a few more months. Even so, Dodge officially plans to discontinue all ICE Challenger and Charger production before the end of the current year.
