Video: Tuned Challenger Hellcat challenges a Tesla Model S Plaid

YouTuber Wheels has pitted a Tesla Model S Plaid up against a Challenger Hellcat. You may think the electric car is the obvious favorite here, but wait until you see its heavily modded opponent in action.

Starting with the Tesla, it utilizes its stock Plaid powertrain that consists of three electric motors and produces 1,020 PS (1,006 hp / 750 kW). The peak torque reaches as high as 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft). Equipped like this, it needs less than two seconds to reach 97 km/h (60 mph) from standstill and only maxes out at 322 km/h (200 mph) – at least, this is what the automaker claims.

All we know about the tuned Dodge Challenger Hellcat is that it delivers around 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts) to the wheels. Other than that, it is quite the dark horse of this particular race. Will it be able to outpace one of the world’s fastest-sprinting EVs? Find out in the video!
