YouTuber 1320video has posted the footage from a nerve-wracking run in a 2022 Dodge Super Stock Challenger SRT 2022. The driver, Sheldon, was completely blind.
The race took place at the Alaska Raceway Park, and Sheldon was eager to try out his newly bought Challenger. A minor problem with the torque control system spoiled the first attempt halfway, but the driver went back and managed an impressive result the second time around: a quarter of a mile in 11.5 seconds. The car very nearly hit 200 km/h (124 mph) at the finish line.
Commenting on the attempt, Sheldon said his personal best quarter-mile time was 10.8 seconds (with a different car), so he might want to come back and try to improve it later with the new Challenger.
