Last year, a tuning company known as Six12 Auto Worx introduced a surprisingly bold and unique Dodge Challenger conversion, encasing the modern muscle car in a retro body inspired by the 1971 Plymouth Cuda. The car with a completely new exterior and engine is now headed to a Mecum auction in January poised to sell for $400,000 or so.
The donor car – a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye – starts from approximately $115,000, so what does the retromod offer to justify being 3.5 times as expensive? Quite a bit, apparently. For one thing, it features an all-new carbon-fiber body handmade using the autoclave method. For another, it is finished in a gorgeous and complex shade of purple metallic.
The wheels are 20 inches large and receive their momentum from a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat engine. The interior looks mostly stock in the photos.
