Dodge Challenger looks more unhinged than ever with rear-hinged doors

The recent Tokyo Auto Salon has hosted dozens upon dozens of tuners’ premieres, but this Dodge challenger clad in an over-the-top body kit was among the most bizarre ones.

Even in its stock form, the Challenger is widely regarded as a temperamental vehicle taking an experienced driver to keep in check. As if willing to go along with the ‘risk’ theme, Coast Motoring equipped this example with custom doors swinging open against the traffic. Aside from looking cool, they make getting in and out of the car easier, so that actually seems like a nice idea.

The exterior received a typical JDM overhaul including a new hood with a giant air scoop, flared fenders, and completely reworked front and rear ends. The stock wheels made room for deep-dish aftermarket rims, and chromed exhaust pipes were added at both sides of the car.

Rather than stopping there and then, Coast Motoring re-trimmed the entire cabin with black and blue leather. Two bucket seats were installed, and yellow contrast stitching was used to bring the whole together.
