Dodge teases the refreshed Challenger SRT Hellcat muscle car

The U.S. car maker Dodge has caused renewed public interest in the forthcoming mid-generational refresh of its Challenger SRT Hellcat muscle car by posting some early teaser pics of the vehicle.

Based on what we can see, the front part of the updated coupe follows the overall stylistic direction of muscle cars issued in the USA in the 60-70s. Among other things, the hood cover/bonnet lid sports the twin ‘nostrils’ pattern which is common among classic vehicles and is usually associated with such qualities as aggression and high performance. There are also new, exclusive wheels and larger wheel housings.

Dodge refused to provide any kind of technical information at this moment, but we may expect the vehicle to ship with a supercharged V8 engine with north of 700 hp at its disposal.

The restyled SRT Hellcat is likely to enjoy good sales once it is out, considering that the current-generation Challenger cars built on the Chrysler LC platform sell 64,000 a year. When that dated platform gets replaced by a much more up-to-date Maserati Ghibli one, sales numbers should soar.
