The Texas-based tuner has shared a video featuring a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon boosted to the 1,000-horsepower mark and beyond. Let’s take a look.
The team used its HPE1000 supercharger kit to convince the stock 6.2-liter V8 to churn out 1,035 hp (772 kW) at 6,500 RPM and 1,285 Nm (948 lb-ft) at 4,200 RPM. This enabled the muscle car to hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in blazing-fast 2.3 seconds, leaving behind many a production supercar.
On a related note, Hennessey offers another, more potent kit for the model. Called the HPE1400, it is a twin-turbo kit that brings the output to – you guessed it – 1,400 hp (1,044 kW) and 1,616 Nm (1,192 lb-ft) of torque. Having said that, we appreciate the less exorbitant price tag on the HPE1000 and the fact that the supercharger generates a rather more pleasant soundtrack.
