50-year-old Dodge Charger fetches $300k at an auction

Why purchase a zero-mileage McLaren 720S when you can get a used 1970 Dodge Charger restomod for the same amount, right?

U.S.-based tuner shop MirandaBuilt carried out the restoration in 2015 for a client from Japan. The elderly muscle car received a Hemi V8 with 9.4 liters of displacement, 676 PS (667 hp / 497 kW) and 996 Nm (735 lb-ft) of torque. A Rossler 4L80E four-speed auto gearbox directs the power to the wheels, and an air-ride suspension enables quick ride height adjustments. The wheel model is Schott F-10, sized 20”.

The new buyer paid U.S. $298,000 for the car painted grey with a black leather cabin. The high price could partially be explained by its low mileage of just 3,000 miles (4,800 kilometers). Then again, transporting the restomod all the way back from Tokyo to the States is going to cost another small fortune.
