Back in the distant year 1969, Dodge Charger debuted with a radiator grille split in the middle and a 7.0-liter HEMI V8 under the hood. The displacement was enormous even by the standards of the era, but someone in 2021 thought it could use some more.
The owner of the car had only just finished restoring it and spent around $100,000 in total. The final asking price quoted by RK Motors Charlotte is twice that much. The restomod goes by the name ‘The Beast’, and you should soon see why.
Starting with the exterior, it is nearly all black with hardly any accents, except for the front grille and the calipers. Both bumpers are custom, and even such minor details as door handles and window washers have been finished in the same shade of black for extra style points.
This isn’t the only beastly aspect of the build. Found inside are a Billet Specialties tri-spoke steering wheel, a gear lever shaped like a pistol grip, and monotonous black leather trim.
Even more interestingly, the engine bay houses an 8.7-liter Ray Barton 528 racing monster of an engine modified for road use. The output is not stated, but engines of this caliber usually have around 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts) and sometimes more. A five-speed Tremec manual transmission sends the torque to the rear wheels.
Would you buy such a Beast for its current asking price of $199,900?
