Old, Hemi-swapped Dodge Charger fetches $163k at auction

A 54-year-old Dodge Charger restomod has found a new owner who agreed to pay $163,000 USD for it. The project car received a plethora of parts from a 2014 Dodge Challenger, including a 6.4-liter V8 Hemi.

The block generates 470 PS (464 hp / 346 kW) and partners up with a six-speed Tremec manual box. The car benefits from custom subframes and height-adjustable springs, as well as quad-link rear suspension. The brakes originate from Wilwood, and 20-inch aftermarket wheels come wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 tires.

Modifications were made in the cabin as well, but the overall style is every bit as retro as it was. New additions include the dashboard, HVAC, power-adjustable seats, and an audio system with Pioneer components and a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. If the center tunnel and the rear seats look familiar, that’s because they were donated by the latest Challenger.

The restomod has around 2,500 km (1,500 miles) under its belt after the restoration, but the full mileage remains unknown.
