Watch a Dodge Charger made from Lego bricks smash through an obstacle course

A YouTube video has recently gone viral that features Lego Technic’s Dodge Charger model colliding with a number of road obstacles on a treadmill. The impediments range from simple speed bumps to grocery stalls for maximum Hollywood movie points.

As some of you must have noticed, the 1:13 replica featured in the tests was modeled based on a car from the Fast & Furious franchise. For the duration of the test, the car was tied to a fixed place on the treadmill and forced to collide with various objects at gradually increasing speeds.

The testers started at 8 km/h (5 mph) and maxed out at 22 km/h (13.7 mph) at the ramp jump stage. The toy car was able to survive all speed bumps without issue thanks to its soft suspension, but started shedding radiator grille parts when collisions began. According to the author of the video, the latter is unsurprising, because the simulated conditions were allegedly comparable to a real-world movement speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

The Dodge Charger by Lego Technic is 39 centimeters (15.25 inches) long and consists of 1,077 parts.
