Dodge said before that the model year 2023 would be the last in the history of the gas-powered Charger and Challenger. As it turns out now, the muscle cars will depart with a bang, getting a handful of special editions finished in nostalgic retro colors and packed with exclusive features.
The company plans to produce as many as seven limited runs of the Charger and Challenger, each referencing a milestone in the history of these vehicles. The details are scarce, but it is official that we will be seeing the first such car at the SEMA show in November.
Challenger buyers will additionally get the option to have their car converted into a cabriolet (we reported). The service is offered by a third party and costs $25,999.
Once the Charger and the Challenger have retired for good, a new all-electric muscle car will come to replace both on the market.
