Another special Dodge Charger drives by to say goodbye

Dodge has unveiled the second out of seven limited-edition cars meant to send the current Charger and Challenger generation to its permanent retirement.

Called the Charger Super Bee, the car comes powered by a 6.4-liter V8 rated at 492 PS (485 hp / 362 kW). Its name harkens back to the Dodge Super Bee that came out in 1968–1971, although the marque did reuse the nameplate for some of its Charger specials. Compared to stock, the sedan has a different ventilated hood, assorted decals, adaptive suspension, drag radials and a couple of new exterior finishes – blue and purple.

Only 1,000 units will be made, half of them with flared fenders (widebody look) and the other half without. Four more special editions will be revealed before September 21, and the seventh – the most final of all, it looks like – is slated to debut at the SEMA show in two months’ time.
