Awesome Woodcraft has uploaded another master-class video distilling the transformation of a raw brick of wood into a detailed car replica in 12 minutes. The inspiration was the iconic Dodge Charger driven by a protagonist of the Fast & Furious movie franchise.
Everything begins with a few basic pieces of wood that gradually take on shape. In the end, not only the body of the car looks gorgeous, even the wheels rotate on their wooden axles. The cabin is richly detailed and the doors swing open and shut close as they should.
As engrossing as it can be to watch such videos thinking of doing something like this yourself, the author warns that there are several hours of off-screen sanding and polishing involved to bring every little detail up to par with their originals. The process is quite demanding, not to say time-consuming, and implies having certain woodworking skills before the start.
