Dodge has posted some images of an all-electric muscle car set to replace the retired Charger V8 and Challenger V8. While it is still a pre-production vehicle, it is scheduled to reach the showroom floors before the end of the year.
On the exterior side of things, the EV looks inspired by the Charger Daytona SRT Concept introduced in August 2022 (see video). The body outlines and the front end with its rectangular headlights and LED strip are the same. The rest of the design has been visibly simplified with normal side mirrors replacing cameras.
The interior and the technical specifications remain to be revealed. In an earlier announcement, Dodge said the Charger Daytona EV would surpass even the formidable SRT Hellcat by sheer power output and some other parameters.
The general assumption is that there will be several powertrains to choose from, both RWD and AWD. A gas-powered variant is not out of the question either, but it would have to trade its V8 for an eco-friendlier Hurricane-series V6.
