VIDEO: This is how they manufacture the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon engine

Hagerty, a classic car insurance company, has published a video telling a story about the engine of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon dragster. The five-minute-long footage manages to touch upon even the most minute details, such as which bolts are used during the assembly and how the supercharger is mounted.

The American-made sports car comes equipped with an 6.2-liter, 8-cylinder HEMI engine rated at an impressive 852 horsepower (635 kW). You do need gasoline with the octane number exceeding 100 in order to squeeze the most out of it, though. The unit features a 2.7-liter supercharger, two fuel pumps and an improved lubrication circuit.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon isn’t being produced anymore. The last car in the batch went off an auction sale last summer.
