Charger SRT Hellcat gets murdered-out in the new US-only Octane Edition

U.S. car manufacturer Dodge has announced a limited special series of its Charger SRT Hellcat sports car. Named the Octane Edition, it combines grim looks with advanced equipment and features.

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Octane Edition will ship in two color variants: black and, unexpectedly enough, white. Both sport a matte-black, red-rimmed pinstripe running down the middle.

Further distinguishing features include a trunk spoiler, blacked-out badges, Brembo brakes with red calipers, and 20-inch wheels with special notches on them preventing the tires from slipping.

The cabin of the limited edition houses a blacked-out instrument panel, upholstery adorned with red stitching, SRT Performance bucket seats, and glossy-black décor elements with a ‘satin aluminum’ look.

Powering the series is the same old 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine rated at 717 hp (527 kW). Powered by the recently introduced Torque Reserve feature, it takes the car from standstill to full throttle in a matter of seconds.

Sales in the USA begin this autumn.
