North American car manufacturer Dodge will be releasing a special Charger series dedicated to the semi-centennial anniversary of the Daytona. The production run will consist of 501 vehicles – just like the original batch that emerged in 1969.
Each Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition sports a light-blue paintjob and has logos and stickers on its trunk lid and spoiler that reference the original Daytona.
Inside, the seats will be adorned with light-blue stitching and sew-on badges with the car name written on them. Exclusive touches include a carbon-trimmed dashboard and a steering wheel with a flat lower half.
A pleasant surprise awaits in the engine department, where the marque’s standard V8 gets a boost to 727 hp (542 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. However minor, the improvement should translate into better overall performance.
Prices remain undiscussed so far. The live premiere of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition will be held on August 17, 2019 in the USA. Pre-orders will open in September, but first shipments won’t occur until 2020.
