Hennessey Performance has made its HPE1000 power kit available for the latest Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The car preserves its stock appearance and aero kit while getting 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts).
As usual, the full listing of components is too long to post it in a news article, so let’s just have a look at the highlights. These include a new 2.65-liter supercharger, a high-flow air intake system, a custom stainless-steel exhaust manifold, a thoroughly revised injection system, and plenty of fiddling with the ECU, of course.
The end result amounts to 1,012 PS (1,000 hp, or 745 kW) along with 1,313 Nm (968 ft-lbs) of peak torque. However you look at it, this is a massive improvement over the muscle car’s standard 717 PS (707 hp, 527 kW) and 881 Nm (650 ft-lbs). Tuned like this, the Charger hits 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.8 seconds instead of the usual 3.7 and covers a quarter of a mile in 9.9 seconds, slamming the finish line at around 226 km/h (140 mph).
