1969 Dodge Dart Swinger Concept heading to auction in January

The regular Dodge Dart Swinger is just a fancy trim of the standard Dodge Dart (see video), but this one is a one-off prototype that Detroit-based tuner Alexander Bros built before the model went into production in 1969.

The prototype comes based on the two-door hardtop convertible version of the Dodge Dart. Alexander Bros worked with Chrysler to remove the window washers and frames, but install recessed door handles and unique Ansen Sprint wheels.

The front end was redesigned with edgy headlamps and fog lamps put in the middle of the grille. A new air intake with three inlet windows appeared in the hood, and the hood cover itself received a few extra locks for security. A fixed spoiler was installed on the trunk lid. The cabin received sport seats, a special gear lever and a three-spoke steering wheel with wooden rim.

Power for the concept comes from a 5.6-liter eight-cylinder engine partnered up with a four-speed automatic transmission. We do not know how much it outputs, but the stock version of this engine could do around 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW).
