Dodge to wrap up Durango SRT Hellcat production by summer

Soon after premiering the Durango SRT Hellcat, its most powerful production SUV to date, Dodge said it the production cycle would be brief.

It is now official that the last top-spec Durango will roll off the lines in early summer of 2021. Apparently, demand has nothing to do with it, either: the company has already sold more units than planned. It is the anti-emission laws that put a lid on the model with its dirty supercharged Hellcat V8.

How many units will be produced? We don’t know. Dodge had originally intended to churn out just 2,000 units at its Michigan factory, but high demand means the number could be revised.

The 6.2-liter V8 the SUV comes with pumps out 720 PS (710 hp / 530 kW) and takes it 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in mere 3.5 seconds. Prices in the US start from $80,995.
