Texan car company Hennessey Performance is wrapping up work on its 1,000-horsepower upgrade kit for the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, and the latest YouTube video shows just what it is capable of.
The drag race takes place between a tuned Durango and a C8 Chevrolet Corvette. Both draw their power from a 6.2-liter V8, but this is pretty much where the similarities end. The Corvette is a light, highly maneuverable and fast sports car, while its competitor is bulky and has the approximate aerodynamic properties of a soap brick.
One would think the Durango would be better off walking away from the fight, but pop open its hood, and you will see HPE1000 aftermarket internals giving it 1,000 hp (1,014 PS / 746 kW) and 1,314 Nm (969 lb-ft) of torque. Add AWD to the mix and realize just how great of an advantage the Durango has. Then watch the video and see it for yourself.
