Collectors, beware: an exotic off-roading truck restomod has cropped up on sale, and it means business.
Underpinning the Dodge Power Wagon 6×6 is a chassis of the Dodge WC62 army truck made in 1946. The car is in a satisfactory overall condition with some aspects better than others, is not street legal in the slightest, and costs a whopping $139,900.
At 5.47 meters (17.95 feet) long and 2.11 meters (6.92 feet) wide, the post-WWII era monster rocks round headlamps, enormous fenders and side sills, and an eagle hood ornament. Its modern wheels come wrapped in Nitto all-terrain tires and resemble something that belongs on a Moon rover. The body boasts a fresh paint and appears defect-free.
The interior is another story. There is neither a heater nor AC. Neither the horn nor the windshield wipers work anymore. On the upside, the seats, the dashboard and the center console are pretty recent, and the steering and pedal are reported as fully functional. Funnily enough, the new tachometer goes all the way up to 160 mph (257 km/h), showing a complete disconnection from the reality of the powertrain.
Speaking of which: the truck still packs its original Cummins diesel engine last overhauled by Diesel Recon in 1993. Nothing is said about its power and emission levels, but it is absolutely not something you would be able to drive on public roads nowadays.
To summarize: not street-legal, not a track tool, so a pure garage queen. The seller calls it a valuable investment that will only go up in price with age. Would you be inclined to agree?
