This Dodge Power Wagon restomod can be yours for $0.4M

A one-off 1947 Dodge Power Wagon truck running on diesel power with compound turbines, a modern drivetrain and as-new looks is available in the United States to anyone willing to part with $400,000 for it.

Legacy Classic Trucks has succeeded in building a swanky restomod that looks like something straight out of a time capsule, rather than a modern interpretation. It features modern suspension components, a five-speed manual gearbox with an advanced transfer case, and an ARB-badged air compressor to keep the cushions and tires inflated.

Found under the hood is a modern diesel engine with four cylinders a liter of displacement each. A compound-turbo setup in tandem with high-flow injectors manages to extract 254 PS (250 hp / 187 kW) and 814 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque out of it, a significant improvement over the original inline-six with 95 PS (94 hp / 70 kW) and 251 Nm (185 lb-ft).

The seller claims the pickup can freely cruise at 129 km/h (80 mph) and makes an ideal workhorse for situations where towing or carrying heavy cargo is required. To that end, it even comes equipped with bumper reinforcements, a winch, a trailer hook and towing eyes. As appealing as that sounds, we suspect no one in their sane mind would use a $400,000 collector’s restomod to perform menial tasks.
