The next, fifth generation of the Ram 1500 pickup truck debuted in the USA in 2018. Despite this, the 2008 model isn’t going anywhere just yet. Apparently, Dodge intends to rename it to ‘1500 Classic’ and even give it a slight facelift.
The new pickup is better than the old one in just about every respect. It sports a lighter frame which is simultaneously more rigid, has a much better-appointed and comfier interior, and ships with a multimedia system that is more up to date. On the other hand, at just U.S. $27,645, the Classic version is much cheaper. The new Ram 1500 starts at $33,440, but opt for the Quad Cab variant and the top trim configuration, and you are looking forward to spending around $57,000.
The fourth-gen Ram is still quite popular on the market and may help lure in the customers who would otherwise be interested in other brands, so the decision to keep it actually appears viable in the long run.
