The Ram pickup truck line will be getting a particularly powerful version in September or October this year. Called the 1500 Rebel TRX, it will bring along a number of stylistic and practical improvements over the series.
Among other things, unconfirmed sources claim that the long-awaited top spec will ship with 35-inch off-road tires, a new front bumper, more ground clearance, wider wheel span, diff locks on both axles, performance brakes, and Bilstein shocks.
The main technical novelty will arrive in the form of the iconic supercharged V8 6.2 Hellcat engine also found in the latest Dodge Challenger and Charger. While not official, multiple sources are reporting that the mill will output 717 PS (707 hp, 527 kW) and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, which is what the newest Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is capable of. An eight-speed automatic gearbox will send the momentum to both axles.
Judging by the leaked dashboard shots, the truck will offer selectable AWD modes and a feature called Drag Timer, which will enable precise time measurement during drag strip runs and other disciplines.
