Over the next several days, Cars & Bids will be selling a unique Dodge Ram Van B3500 produced in 1996 and converted into a camping vehicle with a pop-up roof.
The conversion was carried out by Sportsmobile. According to the auction holder, this particular example is appealing because it was not used too actively (the odometer shows 75,000 km, or 46,600 miles). It also lacks major rust marks throughout its body, looking almost new.
With its top raised, the van resembles Volkswagen’s California, but is bigger. It houses a sofa and a full-fledged kitchen inside, as well as a water heater, a toilet and assorted storage niches.
Power for the van comes from a 5.9-liter V8 rated at 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to the wheels.
The bidding has reached $8,350 by the time of writing this, with three days remaining on the auction clock.
