Johan Eriksson, Swedish car aficionado and founder of Powered by Johan, has succeeded in almost doubling the power of an old Dodge Viper GTS. Let us see how it happened.
The car normally utilizes a naturally aspirated eight-liter V10 engine capable of 450 hp (336 kW) and 700 Nm (616 lb-ft) of torque. Six-speed manual transmission sends the momentum to the rear wheels, rendering it just about manageable at top speeds. Boosting it past the nominal capacity for any uses aside from drag racing is often frowned upon, because losing control of the car becomes trivial.
Unabashed by this, Johan supercharged his example to churn out 805 hp (600 kW) along with up to 1,115 Nm (822 lb-ft) of torque. He installed Stoptech brakes and low suspension to support the insane power and swapped the stock wheels out for an Asanti Forged set measuring 10”×20” 275/30 on the front axle and 13”×22” 335/25 on the rear one.
Exterior novelty boiled down to a custom rear diffuser painted black, as well as a couple purely decorative pieces made of aluminum and carbon fiber. The cabin received a couple of Mopar-branded supercharger gauges, a Pioneer multimedia system, and refurbished HVAC controls.
