Hennessey Performance had its share of reputation issues back in the 1990s, critics blaming it for controversial design and quality assurance problems. Even so, this particular Dodge Viper GTS looks like an exceptionally well-crafted example.
Adorning the exterior of the 1997MY sports car are a massive rear wing, 17-inch chromed wheels shod in Michelin Pilot SX rubber, and a red paintjob with black stripes. Black leather dominates the cabin with red accents on the wheel, the seats and a couple other places. The equipment includes an AC, power windows and a CD player.
Powering the Viper is an 8.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 outfitted with the Hennessey Venom 500 package. The kit contains larger throttle bodies, forged engine components, a high-flow intake manifold and an ECU remap. A six-speed manual transmission sends the power to the wheels, the clutch is racing-spec, and the flywheel is made from a lightweight alloy.
The car comes with a full package of documents and is in good driving condition. The current top bid is $46,000.
