The first generation of the Dodge Viper (see video) went into production 29 years ago after 183 pre-production units rolled off the lines. Many sports cars from this batch went to company employees, and one of them is currently being sold in the USA.
The car is in excellent condition and has no signs of wear on its body, soft top or light leather seats. The powertrain and the equipment are also pristine.
An 8.0-liter V10 linking to a six-speed manual gearbox produces 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and takes the supercar from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds – not a bad result for a vehicle that weighs in at 1,486 kg (3,276 lbs). The top speed is reported as 290 km/h (180 mph).
The 1992 Viper has 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles) on the odometer and goes for U.S. $250,000. Be warned that its status as a test-only prototype may prevent it from being road-legal in select states.
