This 1996 Dodge Viper limo only got more expensive after failed sale attempts

Gateway Classic Cars, a U.S.-based rare car dealership, is once again offering a 7.6-meter (25-foot) Dodge Viper for sale. The asking price is $169,000 – a cool $29,000 premium over its price in 2021 and 2022, when it apparently failed to find a new owner.

Based on the photos, the tuning company that worked on the sports car chopped off its roof. It installed two braces behind the seats and at the rear end to compensate for the loss of structural rigidity. The exterior is white with blue stripes and matching cabin accents.

There are only two individual seats inside, but two benches installed at the sides can accommodate up to 12 passengers, the seller claims. There are only 10 safety belts on board, though. A multi-channel audio system from Boumin is installed, too.

In its factory guise, the first-generation Viper came equipped with an 8.0-liter V10 producing 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW). This particular example has been swapped to a 5.9-liter Mopar crate engine originally built for a Dodge Magnum. It delivers an inferior 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and links with a six-speed A/T.
