Aeolus, a car brand owned by Dongfeng, has revealed the technical parameters of its SUV Haoji, which is sized similarly to the Toyota RAV4, Chery Tiggo 8 and Haval F7. Sales in China should start soon.
The vehicle measures 4,720 х 1,910 х 1,702 millimeters large with 2,825 mm between the axles and wheels coming in sizes from 17 to 19 inches. Buyers can choose from a wide assortment of exterior trim options, including chrome, blackout, black top, and more.
The underpinnings are provided by DSMA, a unitized architecture developed by Stellantis based on one of its own designs (Stellantis and Dongfeng are partners). The suspension uses McPherson struts at the front and a per-wheel setup in the back. The drive stays locked to the front axle.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) in its petrol version and 177 PS (175 hp / 130 kW) in hybrid form. The latter uses the engine as part of the Atkinson cycle. The petrol spec gets a seven-speed preselector DCT and hits its speed ceiling at 190 km/h (118 mph). The hybrid makes do with a CVT and maxes out at 170 km/h (105 mph), despite being more powerful at 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) with the electric motor factored in.
Interior highlights include a large display uniting the dashboard and the infotainment touchscreen, a HVAC control panel with touch-sensitive buttons and hardware knobs, optional Nappa leather trim, a footrest for the front passenger seat, ventilation, and a panoramic sunroof.
