Dongfeng has started accepting pre-orders for the Chinese T5 crossover, which debuted this spring at the Beijing International Motor Show. The model is available in China under the sub-brand name of “Fengxing”. Its international brand name will likely be “Forthing”.
The Fengxing/Forthing T5 is 4,550 mm (~15 ft.) long, 1,825 mm (6 ft.) wide and 1,725 mm (5 2/3 ft.) tall with 2,720 mm (~9 ft.) of axle spacing.
On its home market of China, the new vehicle ships with a choice between a 1.5L gasoline turbo engine capable of 150 hp (112 kW) and a superior 1.6L engine with 204 hp (152 kW). Gearbox can be 6-speed manual, IVT, or 7-speed DCT.
Standard and available features include a panoramic roof, LED lighting, 360-degree view cameras, climate control, a digital dashboard, and an infotainment system with a vertical touchscreen display and voice control support.
The new Fengxing T5 will be priced between U.S. $13,700 and $21,000. Exact retail prices will be available in September when the sales start.
