Dongfeng AX7 gets its second facelift in two years

Chinese car manufacturer Dongfeng has released several photos showcasing its updated AX7 crossover/SUV line. This is the second time the car gets a facelift, with the first one being last year.

The vehicle features a fresh radiator grille design, restyled bumpers and new lights. Its sides have also been reshaped.

The restyled Dongfeng AX7 is 4,645 mm (15.24 ft.) long, 1,880 mm (6.17 ft.) wide and 1,690 mm (5.54 ft.) tall with 2,715 mm (8.91 ft.) between the axles. It is thus only marginally longer and wider, while also a bit less tall than its predecessor.

The interior greets the viewer with a new center tunnel, a fully digital instrument panel, a squared-off steering wheel and an advanced infotainment system. The climate control unit has also been redesigned.

The manufacturer says nothing about the engine palette the updated series will ship with, so we can assume that it remains unaltered. The pre-facelift Dongfeng AX7 ships with a choice between a 1.4L turbo engine capable of between 140 and 150 hp (104 – 112 kW) and a stronger variant rated at 167 hp (125 kW). Transmission choices boil down to 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.

The new Dongfeng AX7 will debut in a few days, so we can expect more information then.
