The Donkervoort D8 GTO is one of the latest performance cars produced by Netherlands-based niche carmaker Donkervoort, and someone found it beautiful enough to replicate in wood.
Specifically, it is the very same talented YouTuber, Awesome Woodcraft, who we have written may times about. The carpenter takes a few simple blocks of wood and saws them into shape using the original proportions of the D8 GTO as reference. The elongated, vented hood, dozens of tiny air vents and a richly detailed engine bay – it’s all there.
If you have seen a few replicas like this one already, you will know that the interior also gets its share of details. For this project, they include two seats, a center console with a gear selector, a steering wheel and a dashboard. Wheels and tires are likewise painstakingly replicated, as are exhaust tips and spectacular butterfly-wing doors.
