The Netherlands-based niche automaker will try to move away from using Audi’s five-cylinder engines.
Donkervoort has been using these engines in all production cars since 2011. The latest sports car to get such an engine was the F22, which only came out a couple of years ago. To say goodbye to the faithful five-banger, the company will be building just five F22 “Final Five” examples upgraded with carbon-ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust system, and lightweight bodywork. All of the above adds up to make the car around 34 kilos (75 pounds) lighter.
Each of the five limited-edition examples will be offered starting from €315,000. Donkervoort will reveal its next production car and engine in 2025.
