Video: Drako GTE vs. Tesla Model S P100D

Drako Motors has posted a video where its electric hyper-saloon – the GTE – goes up against a Tesla Model S P100D liftback.

The Drako GTE comes based on Fisker Karma chassis and features four electric engines, each assigned to its own wheel. The cumulative power output amounts to 1,215 hp (906 kW), and the torque is a massive 8,800 Nm (6,500 pound-feet). The company does not reveal acceleration times, but it does mention that the top going speed is 331 km/h (205 mph).

In turn, the Tesla Model S P100D packs two electric motors mounted one per axle (the company is working on releasing the three-engine ‘Plaid’ version, but it is not ready for production yet). Its specs are much humbler at ‘mere’ 750 hp (559 kW) and 1,400 Nm (1,033 lb-ft) total. The saloon zaps from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and hits its speed ceiling at 262 km/h (163 mph). The liftback in the race also boasts the Ludicrous+ feature that enables it to warm-up before the launch and briefly exceed the nominal power output for maximum forward momentum.

Watch the race if you are interested in the outcome, although we would be lying if we said it was unpredictable.
