Exeed LX gets a girls’ version and a part-electric variant

Exeed has introduced a couple of new versions of its LX SUV in China.

To celebrate the upcoming International Woman’s Day, the company will be releasing a special edition finished in light green with copper-tinted accents on the bumper and sides. The interior follows the same color scheme. Exeed seems to believe the limited series is “especially appealing to women.”

This version also makes use of some extra driving assists facilitating urban driving, such as all-around cameras and narrow lane assist. Further equipment on board includes a Sony audio system, a panoramic roof, power-assisted mirrors, and power seats. The latter come with adjustable lumbar support, ventilation, heating and preset memory.

A 1.5-liter engine under the hood drives a CVT box with 156 PS (154 hp / 114 kW). You can opt for a 1.6-liter variant with a seven-speed DCT and get a superior 197 PS (194 hp / 144 kW). The special edition will debut in its full glory on March 7, so the sales will probably start soon after the reveal.

The other new Exeed LX is a plug-in hybrid. It uses a 1.5-liter IC engine in tandem with two electric motors. Their outputs remain unannounced, but the manufacturer claims the car has around 105 km (65 miles) of all-electric range, or more than 1,000 km (621 miles) with the gas tank and the battery maxed out.

The PHEV looks identical to its ICE cousins both outside and inside, but sports slightly different dash gauges. The regular Exeed LX costs from 110,000 to 170,000 Yuan; the PHEV starts at 150,000 Yuan.
