China’s Tesla Model 3 rival spotted without camo

Premium automaker Exeed continues testing its first all-electric sedan so far known as the E03. New spy photos show a nearly undisguised test car, which AutoHome says looks identical to the E03 from the patent filings revealed earlier. The premiere is expected at the Shanghai auto show in mid-April, and we are told there will be multiple electric powertrains to choose from.

The car in the exterior photo can hardly be called production-ready, though, with its obviously temporary headlights. That said, the fastback-style bodywork appears finalized. The front end makes do without a radiator grille, but has fake air intakes at both sides of the bumper.

The interior snapshot reveals what looks like two large displays, a squared-off steering wheel and a wide center tunnel with a storage compartment in it.

The whole car is roughly 4.95 meters long with 2.9 meters of wheelbase. In its starting spec, it will ship with a single rear-axle motor, while all higher trim levels will offer dual motors and AWD. A CATL battery pack will grant up to 650 km (404 miles) of range.

While there is no confirmation yet, the bump on the roof could be concealing a LiDAR, a high-end radar device used in semi-autonomous driving solutions.

When the Exeed E03 reaches the market, it will primarily compete with the Tesla Model 3 and the BYD Han, AutoHome believes.
