The Chinese car manufacturer keeps spawning premium brands in what seems to be a completely arbitrary manner. Meet the Vantas, apparently just a rebadged Exeed TXL. Is it any different? What does ‘Vantas’ mean? Why the new name? No idea, honestly.
Duke Hale of HAAH Automotive Holdings will promote the Vantas marque in North America, the press statement claims. He said he would not just sell SUVs, but also assemble them on the continent. The exact factory name and location remain unknown.
Vantas is going to be marketed as a ‘premium’ brand with high reliability, build quality and safety as the core values. Performance and acceleration will hardly look good, though, given that the Exeed TXL comes powered by a mundane 1.6-liter four-banger with 197 hp (147 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque at the output end. Could the U.S. spec be better? We will wait and see.
This is not the first time Duke Hale partners up with Chinese manufacturers. In 2018, he signed a contract with Zotye to launch the T600 SUV in the USA in 2021. The brand has received an official U.S. website and contracted around 100 dealerships so far. HAAH Automotive Holdings also has an extensive dealer network of its own, which used to sell Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, and Volvo cars.
