Mecum’s Nashville auction lineup will include a one-off Pontiac G6 sedan prepared by Roush Industries for the SEMA-2004. Aside from an eye-catching exterior and some powertrain upgrades, it ended up being the only Pontiac ever touched by the Ford Mustang specialist, so the bidding could get interesting.
As you may remember, the G6 saloon saw the daylight two decades ago and left the assembly line six years later as the brand went under. Its exterior was commonly described as clean and sleek, but ultimately understated.
This was a no-go for the SEMA show, so Roush had it resprayed in Merles Opus Orange Yellow, installed a more characterful hood, redesigned both bumpers and put new 19-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone Potenza tires in the arches. A rear spoiler rounded off the catchy exterior makeover.
The tuner also introduced several modifications to the cabin of the car, adding Sparco seats in black and yellow leather trim, some additional gauges on the a-pillar, and branded floor mats. The 3.5-liter V6 ended up with a cold air intake and a performance exhaust system, but the listing doesn’t mention how much better it performs than the stock mill with its 203 PS (200 hp / 149 kW).
With only 145 km (90 miles) of use on the odometer and no official price estimations, it’s an intriguing specimen for sure.
