Volkswagen has a whole range of cars available exclusively in China, but one of them may make it into Europe soon, according to insider reports.
The VW Tayron is an SUV built on the MQB platform. Sources claim it will come to replace the VW Tiguan Allspace in Europe and will be produced in Wolfsburg, Germany. Unlike its Chinese counterpart, the Euro spec will offer three rows of seats.
The original VW Tayron ships with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW), as well as a two-liter engine available in 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) and 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW) variants. There is also a hybrid version capable of 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW).
The launch in Europe is expected in 2024.
