The Italian company held an online presentation of the
600-strong roadster Portofino. The model replaced the Ferrari California T and
now it will be the most affordable car in the line.
The supercar received a new lightweight and, at the
same time, more rigid chassis, an upgraded exhaust system, modified shock
absorbers with a magnetorheological liquid, a F1-Trac tracking control and a
brand-new rear differential E-Diff of the third generation.
Under the hood of the Ferrari Portofino, the 3.8-liter
twin-turbo V8 engine generates 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, which works
in tandem with a seven-speed robotic transmission. The roadster accelerates to
the first "hundred" in 3.5 seconds, and its maximum speed reaches 320
kilometers per hour. In addition, Ferrari engineers retuned the electronic
control unit and equipped the power unit with new pistons and connecting rods.
Another technical innovation of the model was the
electronic power steering, due to which the steering ratio decreased by 7%.
Ferrari Portofino became the first in the history of the machine line GT, which
received such a system.
The public premiere of the new roadster Ferrari
Portofino will be held in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The
cost of the novelty is not yet known.
