Calculating the perfect 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo took 18,000 hours

The racetrack-only 488 GT3 Evo 2020 debuted at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali last weekend. The new iteration of the car went through substantial changes compared to its predecessors, and Ferrari claims calculations and modeling alone took over 18,000 hours.

The engineering department paid the most attention to the aerodynamic performance, giving the two-door coupe a redesigned front bumper, sleeker doors, and a larger slit in the roof. Using new Sabelt racing seat design enabled a further reduction in weight.

The powertrain remained unaffected. The 488 GT3 Evo still holds onto its V-shaped, twin-turbo eight-banger with 3.9 liters of displacement room and close to 650 hp (485 kW) at the crank.

All options listed above are now available to pre-order for the older 488 GT3 Evo as well. Interested customers should also consider the 24H/Endurance Package, which includes GTE brake calipers, a carbon-fiber clutch mechanism, a front apron with integrated headlights, and stainless-steel wheel hardware.
