Ferrari patents its 1st electric vehicle in Europe

The Italian carmaker has submitted a series of patent images depicting an AWD supercar driven by four electric motors. The pics are currently posted on the Taycan EV website.

Ferrari’s pioneer in battery-powered personal transports features a sophisticated torque control system that enables immediate real-time adjustment of momentum and engagement of regenerative brakes. The all-electric Drako GTE hypercar, which packs 1,217 horsepower (908 kW) and is shown in the video here, has a similar AWD management system implemented.

Interestingly, the recipient patent office categorized the images submitted by Ferrari into the ‘Hybrid cars’ category, so we should probably expect this to be an HEV, rather than a pure BEV. The company currently refrains from comments.
