The world’s most expensive car just got more expensive

Yet another Ferrari 250 GTO coupe has cropped up on sale in Marbella, Spain for an eye-watering asking price of €85,000,000. If the deal succeeds, it would make it the history’s most valuable car with the transaction amount disclosed to the public.

According to the listing, it could be the same vehicle that broke the price record in August 2018 selling for $48,400,000 USD. As such, we have populated the gallery with photos and a video of that example.

The 250 GTO counts among the most famous cars worldwide, not least because of its originality. Unless we are mistaken, this example is number three out of 36 chasses made by Ferrari in 1962-1964, and one of only seven to get a body from coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti.

The model frequently won racing championships, having scored two Targa Florio victories and contributing much to the company’s racing triumph of 1964.

The listing repeats the one from 2018 nearly word-for-word, just in Spanish instead of English. The car itself is in Marbella now and sold through a local dealership.

The ad itself does not specify the chassis number and lacks photos of the car itself, only offering a standard catalogue pic. The vehicle sold four years ago had different-looking front fender louvers, radiator grille and front bumper. The seller points out that Ferrari Classiche inspected and certified this example, though, so it must be genuine.
